As you approach the entrance, this very large mansion takes on a more human, embracing scale.

The great hall is bright and almost empty, opening up from the cozy, dimly lit foyer. The focus is on the decoration by McDonald, Madintosh's bride.

The fixtures throughout the home are fabulous, and surprisingly contemporary. As Al said, for the first decade of the 20th century, this guy broke all the molds.

The built in in the dining room originally had casework on both sides, but the present architectural team felt it was not right for the scale of the room.

The decorations by McDonald are lovely, the colors soft, and the decorations coordinated with the accents on the furnishings.
